A 3ª Corrida da Guarda Civil Municipal de Sorocaba, realizada na manhã de domingo (23), superou todas as expectativas e se consolidou como um dos maiores eventos esportivos e solidários da cidade. Com 500 atletas inscritos e um público total que ultrapassou mil pessoas, no Parque dos Espanhóis, a atividade também comemorou mais um aniversário da GCM, que celebra 38 anos de dedicação, proteção e serviço à população sorocabana. A largada ocorreu às 7h, reunindo corredores, familiares e apoiadores, que também participaram de um gesto de solidariedade: cada atleta foi convidado a levar 2 kg de alimento não perecível e o resultado surpreendeu ao somar mais de uma tonelada de alimentos. Toda a arrecadação será destinada a famílias em situação de vulnerabilidade, por meio do Fundo Social de Solidariedade (FSS) de Sorocaba.
Uma prova do sucesso desta iniciativa foi a intensa procura por vagas para participar da corrida solidária. Além da grande adesão dos interessados, devido ao limite de inscrições, muitos não conseguiram concluir seu cadastro. Mas a organização agradeceu o enorme apoio de todos e entusiasmo da comunidade. O acesso ao site do evento chegou a registrar mais de 100 mil acessos simultâneos, refletindo o grande interesse dos sorocabanos.
A realização da corrida contou com apoio financeiro obtida por meio de emenda municipal do então vereador Vinícius Aith, que tem incentivado ações esportivas e sociais na cidade.
Com o tema “Paz nas casas e nas ruas”, a edição deste ano reforçou a mensagem de união, saúde, segurança e responsabilidade social. “A presença maciça do público fez do evento um verdadeiro marco para a GCM e para Sorocaba”, destacou o secretário de Segurança Urbana (Sesu), João Alberto Corrêa Maia.
“O povo sorocabano, mais uma vez, dá prova de sua enorme generosidade ao contribuir com a campanha ‘A Fome não é Fake!’, doando alimentos. E a GCM está de parabéns por tomar essa iniciativa tão bonita, voltada ao bem-estar da população, além de incentivar a prática esportiva”, concluiu a secretária da Mulher e presidente do Fundo Social, Rosangela Perecini.
