Até domingo (7), das 8h30 às 17h30, a população pode conferir gratuitamente a carreta do Museu Catavento, um museu itinerante com experiências científicas interativas que está estacionado na Avenida Doutor Afonso Vergueiro, 280, no Centro de Sorocaba.
A iniciativa faz parte de projeto “Museu Catavento: Ciência que vai até você”, que integra o programa CultSP na Estrada, da Secretaria da Cultura, Economia e Indústria Criativas do Estado de São Paulo, com o apoio da Prefeitura de Sorocaba, por meio da Secretaria de Cultura (Secult) e patrocínio Master da Shell.
Começando por Sorocaba, a carreta, que possui entrada com acessibilidade, prevê passar por 37 cidades ao todo, até março de 2026, e estima-se que mais de 10 mil pessoas sejam impactadas mensalmente pelo projeto. “Ficamos orgulhosos por inaugurar a viagem proposta pela carreta. Com a atuação em nossa cidade, o público terá uma experiência de imersão em áreas de física, química, biologia, geografia e história”, explicou o secretário da Secult, Luiz Antonio Zamuner.
A visita é realizada com um circuito interno, que dura cerca de 25 minutos, em grupos de até 20 pessoas por sessão. Os visitantes são conduzidos por educadores treinados para monitoria em cada um dos nove aparelhos instalados no veículo. Entre os destaques, estão o Gerador de Van de Graaf, uma bicicleta ergométrica geradora de energia, uma maquete tridimensional do núcleo da terra e monitores que simulam o canto de 30 diferentes aves brasileiras.
O Museu do Catavento foi inaugurado em 2009 e está localizado no histórico Palácio das Indústrias, sendo o museu de ciências mais visitado da capital paulista. O espaço é administrado pela Organização Social Catavento Cultural e Educacional e reúna mais de 200 instalações interativas divididas em quatro áreas temáticas: universo, vida, engenho e sociedade.
