A população poderá participar, de sexta a domingo (26 a 28), da 3ª edição da Festa das Nações no Parque das Águas, no Jardim Abaeté. O evento, em alusão ao Dia Mundial do Turismo (27 de setembro), faz parte do calendário oficial de eventos da cidade e acontece na sexta-feira, das 17h às 22h; e no sábado e domingo, das 11h às 22h.
Realizada pela Amo Sorocaba, com apoio da Prefeitura, por meio da Secretaria do Turismo (Setur), a Festa das Nações terá entrada gratuita e será aberta ao público de todas as idades. Com o intuito de celebrar a diversidade cultural e trazer elementos característicos da gastronomia mundial, o público vai encontrar decoração temática e poderá assistir apresentações artísticas de vários países, como Escócia, Japão, Espanha, Estados Unidos, Coreia, Itália e Brasil.
Na sexta-feira (26), às 20h, a banda The Mars Tributo sobe ao palco com sucessos do Bruno Mars. No sábado (27), a banda Bohemian Rock Queen Cover toca às 20h. Já no domingo (28), às 19h, a banda Megazord anima a última noite do evento.
A Festa das Nações de Sorocaba vai oferecer uma infraestrutura completa, com praça de alimentação e área kids, e será pet friendly. Além disso, terá caráter solidário. O público poderá doar 1kg de alimento não perecível ou um litro de leite, que será encaminhado ao Fundo Social de Solidariedade (FSS) de Sorocaba.
Durante o período do evento, a Urbes – Trânsito e Transportes disponibilizará linhas de ônibus gratuitas saindo do Terminal Santo Antônio (TSA) até o Parque das Águas. Além disso, o ônibus do City Tour, coordenado pela Setur, fará o mesmo trajeto, partindo do terminal, às 18h, 19h, 20h30 e 21h30. Já da Festa das Nações, para retorno ao TSA, o veículo sairá às 18h30, 19h30, 21h e 22h.
A Prefeitura também oferecerá serviços, como a doação de mudas (sexta-feira à noite) e a feirinha de adoção pet (sábado à tarde), promovidas pela Secretaria de Meio Ambiente, Proteção e Bem-Estar Animal (Sema); e aferição de pressão e glicemia e orientação pediátrica, no sábado e domingo, das 18h às 22h, oferecidas pela Secretaria da Saúde (SES).
