A Prefeitura de Sorocaba, por meio da Secretaria de Turismo (Setur), levou aos estudantes da Escola Estadual “Monteiro Lobato”, uma edição do projeto “Turismo vai à escola”, na manhã da terça-feira (14). A ação atendeu um grupo de aproximadamente 50 crianças do Ensino Fundamental II, que se aprofundou na história de Sorocaba, por meio de atividades educativas.
Os servidores da Setur, Marcio Celestino, Adriana Cesar e Fabio Bevilacqua, apresentaram os tipos de turismo promovidos em Sorocaba e estimularam o conhecimento dos jovens. “Conseguimos, com a realização deste projeto, despertar nos alunos um olhar para o setor do turismo, que é um segmento em franca expansão”, destaca Adriana.
Dentre os pontos turísticos apresentados, o que mais chamou a atenção dos alunos foi a história da gigante estrutura de concreto no bairro Vergueiro. “A Aranha do Vergueiro, como é conhecida, despertou a curiosidade deles, pois não tinham ideia de que ela foi erguida em 1959, com o objetivo original de ser uma igreja”, explica Marcio.
