Sorocaba, representada por uma equipe da Secretaria do Meio Ambiente, Proteção e Bem-Estar Animal (Sema), participou, na última quinta e sexta-feira (4 e 5), de uma visita técnica à Horta Comunitária de Osasco (SP), ao lado de gestores de diferentes cidades. A atividade integrou o primeiro módulo presencial da Formação em Agricultura Urbana e Periurbana, do Governo Federal.
A capacitação é promovida pelo Ministério do Desenvolvimento e Assistência Social, Família e Combate à Fome (MDS), por meio da Secretaria Nacional de Segurança Alimentar e Nutricional (Sesan), em parceria com a Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV), com o objetivo de fortalecer o Programa Nacional de Agricultura Urbana e Periurbana.
A ideia é que a formação também apoie os municípios na elaboração de projetos-pilotos que integrem políticas públicas voltadas à sustentabilidade, à nutrição e ao desenvolvimento local.
Durante a visita, o espaço foi apresentado como um ativo comunitário estratégico para o fortalecimento da agricultura urbana, a ampliação da produção local e a promoção de práticas sustentáveis de segurança alimentar. A iniciativa também se coloca como oportunidade para futuros investimentos, que poderão beneficiar inúmeras famílias.
