As famílias terão a oportunidade de conhecer, no dia 29 de agosto, sábado, das 9h às 13h, no Canil Municipal de Sorocaba, diferentes animais resgatados, entre cães e gatos, vítimas de maus-tratos e que aguardam um novo lar. Todos os pets disponíveis para adoção são vacinados, castrados e microchipados.
Promovida pela Prefeitura de Sorocaba, por meio da Secretaria do Meio Ambiente, Proteção e Bem-Estar Animal (Sema), o objetivo da iniciativa é incentivar a adoção responsável de cães e gatos que vivem na unidade municipal.
Para adotar um animal de estimação, o morador precisa apresentar documento pessoal com foto e comprovante de endereço recente, além de responder questionamentos aos profissionais da Sema, relacionados ao bem-estar dos animais, como, por exemplo, se existe outro pet na residência ou, ainda, a respeito do espaço destinado ao animal no imóvel.
Importante salientar que adotar cão ou gato é assumir uma responsabilidade e jamais pode ser uma ação por impulso, pois os tutores precisam garantir o cuidado necessário a esses animaizinhos por toda a vida. Um cão, por exemplo, pode viver mais de 15 anos, ou seja, ele vai precisar da atenção do seu tutor por muito tempo, como receber carinho, cuidados veterinários, além da necessidade de brincar e passear.
